We make the fuel cell marketable!

At the Energy 2007 Fair in Hannover, the North Rhine/Westphalia Economics Minister Christa Thoben visited the stand of HOPPECKE Batteries.

As part of a research project supported by the German state of North Rhine/Westphalia, HOPPECKE are developing a modern, futuristic hybrid drive for industrial trucks. This involves the combination of a fuel cell with a special battery for optimal matching to the specific application. “We are making the fuel cell marketable” declared Dr. Marc Zoellner, HOPPECKE’s Chief Executive, since the use of a hybrid lowers system costs by 75%.

Minister Christa Thoben was delighted with the results achieved in the projects of the EnergieAgentur.NRW [NRW Energy Agency]. Here in North Rhine/Westphalia we shall continue to work intensively on the development of future energy sources to secure our long-term energy base” said the Minister.
